Havana Gold ex Maremmadiavola filly
Purchased at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze Up Sale, this filly is by HAVANA GOLD: A fantastic young sire, of proven Group 1 winners such as Havana Grey and who better to train her than the man who trained her sire, for his racing career, Richard Hannon. Read about her sire here: https://tweenhills.com/stallion/havana-gold
She’s already arrived at Richard’s Wiltshire base and has had a leg stretch this morning, to help her settle in. She’s out of a very fast, Listed winning and Group performing mare from and hails from a family oozing black type performers.
See her walk video here:
There were only three horses who received a unanimous three tick rating from our Bloodstock team (a tick system we use to grade breezers, which starts at one, increasing in increments of a half, up to a maximum of three) in the entire Guineas Breeze Ups Sale. This filly was one, we also purchased one of the others and the third made 135,000gns by an unproven stallion. In watching this filly’s breeze, you are watching poetry in motion, witnessing everything you could wish for from such an event. She is so strong through the line and through the gallop out, that we can only imagine how well she’ll perform with another 3f or so to cover. She looks rapid and she timed very well on the clock too.
Watch her breeze here:
Richard was so desperate to buy her at the sales, that he went on record as saying “I’m not going home without this filly”. She the sort of filly, who ought to need just two- or three-days’ holiday, of performing light canters, before we prep her through the stalls and give her one final piece of work for a racecourse debut, somewhere close to home, in the hope that she’s en route Royal Ascot.
Furthermore she has a pedigree page like we’ve never seen before, it’s littered with the bonuses that she qualifies. By clicking to her catalogue page you’ll hopefully agree, that she’s a very shrewd purchase at 52,000gns, given she qualifies for more bonuses than a contestant on a Bruce Forsyth game show! She could earn up to £325,000 in total bonuses of you include the Great British Bonus that she qualifies 100% for. As soon as she wins a Class 4 novice or maiden, she will earn a GBB £20,000 bonus plus a £15,000 Breeze Up bonus plus the regulation prize money of the day. If she wins a 2yo race at Royal Ascot she earns a further £125,000 bonus and there’s an additional £125,000 bonus for any Group 1 victory she may enjoy. The GBB bonuses can be won a multiple number of times. She’s entered too for the £150,000 Tattersalls Auction race, held in October at Newmarket and if there were betting for the race, she’d be near the head of the market there’s no doubt.
The maths stacks up, the pedigree stacks up, her breeze stacks up; she’s a “no brainer”, as we occasionally label an ownership opportunity. Hopefully, you agree and would like to jump aboard. Richard Hannon has reserved his 10% already.
Training Update (4th May): She has settled into her new yard well. Richard will give her a quiet week to get over the sales experience and her breeze. The next forfeit stage for the £150k Tattersalls Auction Stakes is today and we have left her in the race. We can't wait to see her on the track!
Her vendor approves of her new home! We love that her stable name is 'Emma' too:
