*From the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale 2021. The sale where we purchased our Group 1 winner and Champion European 2yo 2013; TOORMORE (£36,000), Group 2 winner VENTURA TORMENTA and dual Group 2 winner KOOL KOMPANY (£40,000)
SIRE: Dandy Man
DAM: Satin Ribbon (Shamardal)
TRAINER: Karl Burke
Karl Burke has really made a name for himself in recent years, in particular with sharp and racy 2yo sorts, often with fillies, having won The Gp2 Lowther Stakes and Gp2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes 2020 and The Listed Julia Graves Roses Stakes 2021 with Atagirl, so where better to send this daughter of Dandy Man for her 2022 career?
See her walk here:
She came highly recommended by her breeder Joe Foley of Ballyhane Stud. In fact, he marked our card, even before the sales’ season began, that if she were to fall within our purchasing budget, that we should secure her. She was his nap of the season. We’ve taken his advice and welcomed her to our 2022, 2yo roster.
She hails from a heavy black type family and is a FULL SISTER to a two-time 2yo winner. Joe says she’s a nicer model than her elder sibling, so the sky could really be the limit. We’ve yet to add the Lowther to our CV at Middleham Park, let’s hope this filly can rectify this in 2022.
She’s wintered (and thrived) at Joe Foley’s Ballyhane Stud. He’s prepped the likes of Lowther winner Living In The Past and Grade 1 winner La Pelosa in recent times. Joe describes her as “a beauty” as she headed across from Ireland to join Karl's yard. She’s strong, well bred, and has a temperament to die for.
Training Update (6th July): Karl reports that she's a well grown filly now and he'll build up her fitness cantering through July and then look to Gallop her when we get in to August. See a video of her in the gallery, doing a slow canter as she settles in.
