Purchased at the Tattersalls Horses-In-Training Sale, this son of POUR MOI, joins us and JAMES FERGUSON, who we are delighted to welcome to MPR. James has made an impressive start to his training career and has a superb 21% Strike Rate.

James was very keen on Cozone at the sales and was delighted to purchase him; to be our first horse in his yard. He very kindly says: "It will be a tremendous honour to have horse run in your colours and even more so to train a winner!
Cozone is a horse with a bright future. He is lightly raced, looks as if he will stay all day and it is our believe that his true potential has not been seen. He is a good-looking strong horse and fitted our profile well as a solid stayer who has the speed to be dropped back in trip if needed.
My plan has been to give Cozone a month off on the walker and geld him. I will then bring him back slowly and have him ready to run on the AW. This would tee us up very nicely for when the turf season starts in the Spring."
See his walk here and a further profile video in the gallery:
Cozone was an impressive 11/4 length winner earlier this year at Sandown and there's seemingly plenty of scope left to improve at these staying trips. Watch the replay of his win at Sandown here: https://www.racingtv.com/videos/watch/horse_racing_replays/282540-claygate-handicap-5
....and we couldn't resist adding this from his breeders!
He’s already shown a decent level of form over staying trips, so we are very pleased to see him racing in our silks!
Training update (9th February): After a very pleasing first run in 2nd, under Hollie Doyle, James told us: "I am absolutely delighted with his run. He was really up for it before the race, looked fantastic and Hollie was delighted with the run, saying he took a blow. I knew that he would improve for the run and think we are going to have a lot of fun with him." Timeform make it a career best performance and give him a rating of 88+ saying: "Shouldn't be long in winning races for his new stable, especially when things go a bit more his way than they did here; worst of draw, took strong hold, went prominent out wide after 1f," James has indentified three races for his next run in February. These entries will show on this page and in the gallery, you can see an update video from James with his plans for him.
