Here’s a very rare opportunity! Purchased at the Goffs Uk December HIT sale, this son of SHANTOU, joins Keith Dalgleish.

Shantou is now retired from stallion duties. "The son of Alleged will be best remembered for supplying Grade 1-winning talents such as Briar Hill, Death Duty, Morning Assembly and The Storyteller, while he also sired Prix Vermeille heroine Sweet Stream" Read the story here:

If you take a look at the pedigree page of Ain't No Sunshine, this €75,000 'store horse', you will quickly see that he is a a FULL BROTHER to the Grade 1 winning hurdler AIRLIE BEACH. She was a superb mare, winning 9 times, with a highest OR of 142 over hurdles. He represents an outstanding opportunity to get involved in a potentially high-class National Hunt horse - he could be classy enough to perform well on the Flat too; something Keith is very adept with!

He’s the most stunning individual you could wish to meet and has this fantastic pedigree to boot.

Watch his profile video here:

He’s only been presented for sale at this juncture, given his owner’s decision to conduct a complete dispersal sale of their thoroughbred stock via Goffs Uk. We were delighted to pick him up for a very, very tidy £35,000 (coincidentally the same price we paid for our Royal Ascot and Cheltenham Festival winner JUNIOR, via this very same auction ring, a few years ago).

However, you don’t just need to take our word for it, that he represents outstanding value for money, Keith Dalgleish, who has been training the horse to date, says of our son of Shantou: “I’ve had a few nice jumpers, and based on his homework, AINT NO SUNSHINE would be right up there with the best of them."

He’s a horse with his whole career ahead of him. He’s a big lad, at 16.3hh, who Keith has brought along steadily, but he looks, and is bred to excel in all three NH disciplines (bumpers, hurdles & chases). This fellow ticks all the boxes.

Racing Update (14th March): A full brother to the high-class AIRLIE BEACH, this exciting youngster could do no more than win on bumper debut, in what proved to be attritional conditions at Kelso. The heavy ground that day, wouldn’t be him playing at home, far from it in fact; it wouldn’t afford him the opportunity to show the class he undoubtedly has. His race entries/declarations will show on this page.
