Knockeen, Co. Waterford has been the de Bromhead family stead for many years, with Henry taking over the license from his father Harry in 2000. Although learning his craft at home, Henry also spent time with Sally Alner, Sir Mark Prescott and at the world renowned Coolmore Stud.

Henry worked hard to build his reputation at Knockeen, into one of Ireland's foremost training establishments. He was rewarded with his first Grade 1 winner in 2008, when SIZING EUROPE won the Irish Champion Hurdle. A horse who went on to win a phenomenal seven Grade 1 races and earning over €1.8million in prize money.

His yard stars have grown in number since and he has prolific winners such as HONEYSUCKLE. A PLUS TARD, NOTEBOOK, MINELLA INDO and many more to lead the way.

His horses lit up the 2021 Cheltenham Festival, where he won the trainers "Holy Trinity" of  The Gold Cup, Champion Chase and Champion Hurdle! The Racing Post reported: "An epic spectacle that thoroughly lived up to its billing, the WellChild-sponsored Gold Cup was De Bromhead's sixth triumph of a stellar week, with Honeysuckle's brilliant Champion Hurdle success and Put The Kettle On's surprise Champion Chase victory setting up an unprecedented Holy Trinity. No trainer had ever won the three traditional championship events at the festival. De Bromhead absolutely bossed the week."

He then followed that amazing meeting with a 1-2 in the 2021 Grand National, where history was made, as Rachael Blackmore became the first female jockey to win the famous race: https://www.racingpost.com/news/grand-national/national-hero-minella-times-adds-to-season-of-seasons-for-henry-de-bromhead/484061
