David Pipe
Since his father Martin's retirement from training at the end of April 2006, David has channelled his talents towards the Pond House string – a role which has provided a varied, challenging and rewarding role alongside his record-breaking father who now occupies the position of assistant trainer. The rich tradition of success at the highest level has continued and Pond House racing stables remains the winning most training establishment in Great Britain. During his tenure with a trainers’ licence David has enjoyed victory at every jumps track in Britain as well as at all of the most prestigious meetings; a Grand National winner, 14 Cheltenham Festival winners and a Hennessy Gold Cup over jumps as well as a Royal Ascot winner and Chester Cup success on the level to name but a few. Meanwhile he has also surpassed 1,000 career winner mark, all of which means that the Pipe name remains synonymous with success within the horse racing industry.
Pond House Racing Stables boasts facilities that have pioneered and revolutionised the racing world. The training facilities include the all weather gallop, indoor canter and loose schooling arena, indoor swimming pool, solarium, horse walker and treadmills. We have our very own on site Laboratory, with Laboratory Technician and fully qualified vet on hand to oversee the general care of the horses.
With all of these amenities at David's disposal, every horse has it's own unique training program designed to fit around each individual's requirements - here at Pond House the horse's welfare is our priority, and they are looked after in 5 star comfort.
The horse's health is the single most important factor and attention to detail is the key. Every horse has it's temperature taken twice daily and their health is monitored with regular blood tests and endoscopes. The greatest of care is also taken with their mental attitudes and the horses are kept relaxed and turned out regularly.
Pond House is steeped in history and a tradition of success at the highest level. When you consider David’s proven record of unearthing promising young talent and the ingredients are in place for that success to continue long into the future.
We are delighted to have a horse back with David, as he had previously trained Junior to great success for us, winning the Kim Muir handicap at Cheltenham.
