*From the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale 2021. The sale where we purchased our Group 1 winner and Champion European 2yo 2013; TOORMORE (£36,000), Group 2 winner VENTURA TORMENTA and dual Group 2 winner KOOL KOMPANY (£40,000) All trained by RICHARD HANNON!*
DAM: Eleventh Hour (Invincible Spirit)
TRAINER: Richard Hannon
“Quality, Value, Success”, were Doncaster Bloodstock Sales’ mantra for a number of years in the late 2000’s, and now, rebranded as GoffsUk, the precocious, sharp, racy 2yo’s that have put Goffs at the forefront of the ‘2yo type’ market, are typified by this son of the Champion French 2yo 2017, the Group 1 Prix Morny & the Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner Unfortunately.
Unfortunately, is a first season sire who has his first runners in 2022. If you can get ahead of the curve with a freshman sire you can often be sourcing value for money, synonymous with Doncaster’s watchwords.
This colt looks, every inch, a horse who should hit the ground running early, at somewhere like Windsor in April, before taking in further races in May and June; the perfect Hannon 2yo and one who looks tailor made for the £250,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury in July, a race that Richard Hannon seems to win more often than not, recently.
Our colt is from a very fast, Coolmore family, which is littered with Group 1 performers. He’s an effortless mover and appears to have a bombproof temperament. He’s not expensive and already looks like a racehorse, rather than a yearling who may make up into one, one day. He’s very exciting, all things considered.
Walk and Profile Video:
Training update (18th January): He has now moved into Richard Hannon’s Wiltshire base, from pre training, to be prepared for the racecourse proper and we look forward to arranging a stable visit for his owners to see him put through his paces! He looks magnificent in the most recent photos we’ve added of him. Although clipped out and not looking his usual jet black colour, he’s still a most stunning looking individual. He’s strong and robust and moves really well. He’s blessed with a really great temperament too. Given his pedigree and physique, it’d be of little surprise, were he to be one of the yard’s earliest 2yo runners. He’s got speed on both sides, his father was a Group 1 winning 2yo and, at this stage, we’d pigeon hole this colt as, potentially, one of our earliest 2yos to hit the track 2022. You’d perfectly imagine him being ready to run, just as soon as the turf season begins. Fingers crossed anyway. See all video updates of him in the gallery. His race entries will show on this page - as you can see, he is entered in the £250k Goffs Premier Yearling Stakes, for 2-y-o's in August, at York, during the Ebor meeting.
