Willie Muir - Lambourn

Willie Muir is based in Lambourn and had trained there very successfully for some time now. He is widely respected in racing and has a super combination of enthusiasm and experience which has led him, of late, to train such really good horses as MATERIAL WITNESS (who is by BARATHEA by the way), ALPEN WOLF, IMPELLER, TEXAS GOLD, MERLINS DANCER, BUY ON THE RED, GILDED DANCER, ZARGUS and of course AVERTI. Averti was a superb 2yo for Willie and went on to top sprint honours later on. Averti became a really useful sire before his untimely and premature demise at the end of 2004. There is no finer place to train than the Lambourn valley, with its open and swinging gallops. It is in easy reach of London (about 1 hour) and the South coast.  Willie is a very friendly trainer who is accessible and approachable. You can't help but like him. Willie trained 21 winners in 2004 and there is no better trainer to bring out the best in a horse, be it a 2yo or a 3yo+
