Greek Kodiac Smashes his Rivals

WINNER 31 OF 2021: GREEK KODIAC, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by Silvestre De Sousa: The 'Join Racing TV Now Selling Stakes' over 7f at Redcar.
He was a cheap purchase from this year's Tattersalls February Sale and from his six starts for us, he had already won more than we paid for him! Yesterday was his first win in our silks, but he has notched up a 3rd and two 2nd places, so was heading in the right direction.
The market had him chalked up as favourite - potentially assisted by Silvestre saying in his blog, that Greek Kodiac was his best ride of the day! He broke well and was in touch, with SDS giving him a roust along at halfway. He knuckled down and stuck to the task well and was "always doing enough," said the Racing Post, to win by a length.

Timeform reported: "...he showed form at least as good as he ever has, under a fully-fledged rider for the first time since joining this yard; in touch, pushed along halfway, led under pressure well inside final 1f, ran on."
Silvestre had a nice double on the card, later winning the feature Zetland Stakes. In his Racing TV post race interview, he said: "They went a decent gallop and he was doing his best work in the last half furlong. He could go up in trip, as the further he goes, the better he could be. He'll win more races for sure."
Congratulations to all of Greek Kodiac's owners and the Michael Bell team who are in flying form at the moment. We bought Greek Kodiac back in, so we hope that SDS is right and he will win more races for our owners!
