Intikhab Filly – this filly is one of sheer quality and presence. She is blessed with very classical looks and has a pedigree to match. Her elegance and quality are best evidenced in the way she moves and carries herself when walking and lunging. We hope she carries such quality into her full training regime. Her sire Intikhab has already sired many quality Flat performers and is the sire of the moment with the filly Red Evie winning the GROUP 1 Matron Stakes in Ireland in September 2006. The dam of our filly is by the great racehorse and sire Grand Lodge. She is from a great, proven family yet there are several unexposed aspects to the pedigree because it is quite a young page to date. All the best performers in the pedigree are fillies and each one progresses with time; effective as a 2yo but even better at three. Who better then to train this filly than Patrick Haslam who has masterminded the progressive fillies of late; KINNAIRD (Prix De L’Opera 1m 2f winner Group 1 2005) and MAROUSIES WINGS (Musidora 3rd Group 3 1m 2f and French Group 3 winner 1m 3f August 2006).
We hope our 29,000gns yearling purchase filly can make up into a Black type performer for 2007 and 2008, providing her owners with action at a very high level. The plan will likley to be to bring her along steadily with a May/June debut with the Group 2 May Hill Stakes being the initial target, a race that Patrick won with Kinnaird.
