We have long since yearned for Ann Duffield to train us a special yearling. She has done so well for us with horses like Indigo Nights, Coconut Queen, Constable Burton, Dotty’s Daughter, Island Prince as well as Eloquent Rose, My Valerina, Prairie Sun etc. All were relatively inexpensive. She spent a bit more on Prince Namid and he is now a top class handicapper. We feel strongly that with just a little extra cash to spend, Ann and George Duffield in liaison with the bloodstock agent Gill Richardson(who purchased Flashy Wings, Championship Point, Youmzain, Miletrian, Sadeek amongst others) can buy us a top class racehorse. This filly cost us 66,000 euros under the hammer, with sales commission and agents fee this comes to £51,000.
Our target with this horse is the very race she qualifies for. The Goffs 1 million euros race to be held at the Curragh over 7f next September. We can dream of victory all winter long. We believe she will train on as a 3yo too and make up into a top class mile to a mile and a quarter horse.
Pedigree by Hawk Wing - the outstanding miler of his generation. Such an awesome performance in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury, beating Where And When by a sensational 11 lengths. He was a Group 1 winner at 2, 3 and 4 and everyone seems to forget he was cantering all over High Chaparral in the Epsom Derby 2f from home, only to run out of stamina to be 2nd. He is a Coolmore Stallion who is destined for the very top as a sire. We are lucky to be able to secure one of his choice yearlings from the Premier Yearling sale in Ireland.
Our filly’s dam, Exact Replica is by the all conquering broodmare sire Darshaan. Darshaan mares have produced top Group performers such as High Chapperal, Islington, Marienbard, Milan, Alexander Goldrun, Sendawar, Greek Dance, Catcher in the Rye, Desert Story and Damson. Darshaan himself in the sire of Mark of Esteem, Dalakhani , Kotashaan, Hellenic and Josr Algarhoud to name but a few. Exact Replica is a full sister to the Group 1 Godolphin performer DARNAY , who was a top class miler. The genes are definitely in there. She has foaled 2 runners to date and both have won.
We believe this filly offers a rare opportunity to race and possibly breed at a later date at the highest possible level.
