85,000 gns purchase at Tattersalls Part 1 Sale 2006
All season we have been planning with William Muir, a CLASSIC SYNDICATE where the objective is to purchase a high quality yearling with the intention of it being a Group Race 2yo with the potential to be a classic contender for 2008. William has done so well in recent times with BIG ROBERT, ENFORCER, IMPELLER, TEXAS GOLD, BUY ON THE RED and Averti a while back. He deserves a really high quality yearling to train and we hope we have supplied him with one here. The purchase price of the colt was 85,000gns no less from the premier sales in the country, Tattersalls Part 1. 85,000gns is £90,000 once converted to sterling. Motivator cost 75,000gns, Sir Percy 16,000gns, Speciosa 30,000gns so winning classics is not out of the question in this sort of market. We have a real, real chance of delivering on our objective here, fingers crossed! William thinks our colt is very athletic and has a nice medium size to him (not too big, not too small), so he should come to hand as a 2yo, which is what we want, but quality through and through, enough to train on for what we have really bought him to be; a Group 1 racer as a 3yo. Obviously we cannot guarantee that but we at least have a decent chance. William has been so impressed with the horse at home since his arrival that he has suggested we make a Derby entry for the horse. His pedigree states this is wholly appropriate too.
PEDIGREE there is simply no compromise at all on that sphere.
The Sire - FANTASTIC LIGHT Fantastic Light was a proper Group 1 horse. He has already sired numerous Group horses since he retired to stud in 2002. The dam - she was a winnier on the track herself and has already produced NANTYGLO who won twice as a 2yo and runs regularly in Group races. She has been placed in a Group 2 race, is a black type winner and has run in Group 1 company. She was a second foal and later siblings tend to out perform their older brothers and sisters. So you would hope we would out perform Nantyglo, or at least that's how the theory goes.
We hope and believe that Reseplendent Light could be destined for the very top. A share in this horse gives his owners a real opportunity to race alongside Godolphin, Coolmore et al. The upside could just be Fantastic for you.

After his nursery win the Racing Post commented
"The ground was on the fast side of good. Not many featured in this nursery which went to one of the least exposed members of the field, RESPLENDENT LIGHT, who was having just his fourth race, was running over a mile for the first time, and was reappearing after a break of two months. He raced in touch and stayed on strongly to grab the lead inside the final furlong. Although his Derby entry looks optimistic at this stage, he will stay further and is the sort who will do even better next season."
